Capabilities

Manufacture your
beauty brand in Nigeria.

Product strategy, formulation, brand and packaging development, documentation and production from OUI Life's women-led Lagos team. Choose the engagement route that matches how much of the product already exists.

01 — What OUI does

From product decision to repeat production.

Seven capabilities run across every engagement. Clients reach them through one of three commercial routes.

  1. Product and category strategy

Define what to make, who it is for, its price position, range role and intended shelf before formulation begins.

  2. Formulation and R&D

Private-label bases, semi-custom modifications and ground-up formulations across OUI's established beauty and personal-care categories.

  3. Brand and product development

Product positioning, naming and range structure, packaging briefs, label architecture, claims inputs and artwork specifications.

  4. Packaging development and compatibility

Component briefs, fill and closure requirements, compatibility review and label inputs. Procurement is included only where separately agreed in writing.

  5. OEM manufacturing and filling

Batch production, filling and documented controls from OUI's Mile 2 facility.

  6. Quality, regulatory and market documentation

Route-scoped NAFDAC-readiness documents, INCI lists, specifications, SDS/MSDS where applicable, CPSR-ready records and external-laboratory coordination.

  7. Repeat production and supply

Formula continuity, retained batch records and repeat manufacture for long-term partners.

02 — Product formats

The categories already inside the system.

These are the formats OUI formulates and manufactures today. Anything outside them is assessed before it is quoted.

Skin and body

Cleansers, serums, moisturisers, lotions, washes and butters.

Hair and scalp

Shampoo, conditioner, treatments, oils and salon-grade systems.

Men's grooming

Beard oils, balms, hair and scalp treatments.

Cleansing

Liquid cleansers and bar soap.

03 — Who we work with

Four ways brands arrive here.

Retailers and chains

Own-label ranges built around margin, repeat supply and listing documentation.

Independent founders

Clear development fees, structured sampling and a documented route to production.

Established brands

Local capacity, formula continuity and batch records without the full import cycle.

Export-facing and diaspora brands

Products prepared for UK/EU documentation and Responsible Person coordination where included.

04 — Engagement routes

Three ways to work with us.

Choose the level of development that matches how much of the product already exists.

Route A

Private label

A proven base formula from our tested range, finished as your product.

Development and sampling from ₦50,000 per product

  • Selection from existing base formulas
  • Fragrance and colour customisation
  • Your packaging and label brief
  • Up to 2 structured revision rounds
  • NAFDAC label input document
Begin Route A
Route C

Custom formulation

A new formula developed against your brief, with deeper research and sampling.

Development and sampling from ₦150,000 per product

  • Ground-up formula development
  • Complete ingredient specification
  • Stability and compatibility testing
  • Up to 2 structured revision rounds
  • CPSR-ready records on request
Begin Route C

Displayed fees cover the development and sampling work stated for the selected route. Production, packaging inventory, third-party testing and regulatory fees are quoted separately unless a written quotation explicitly includes them. Sampling is paid and non-refundable. Production lead time is 4–6 weeks from confirmed inputs.

05 — Scope of work

What OUI handles — and what you bring.

So there are no surprises after the brief: development fees cover formulation work, not your packaging inventory, production stock or launch marketing.

06 — How we work

From brief to batch in six steps.

  1. Submit your brief

Category, route, target market and expected volume. The more specific you are, the faster we move.

  2. Route confirmation and sampling fee

We confirm the route, align timeline expectations and collect the paid sampling fee.

  3. Packaging brief confirmed

Packaging must be confirmed before formulation development begins so compatibility is handled upfront.

  4. Formulation and sampling

You receive samples and have up to two structured revision rounds.

  5. Documentation

Your route's named documentation package — label inputs, INCI list and specification, with SDS/MSDS and CPSR-ready records where the route includes or offers them.

  6. Production and supply

4–6 week lead time from confirmed inputs, with retained batch records for repeat manufacture.

07 — Free tools

These are illustrative planning estimates, not production quotes. Final costs depend on the formula, packaging, batch size, testing and regulatory requirements. Calculator assumptions: revenue = retail price × monthly units × SKUs; sampling cost = the selected route's development fee × SKUs.

I truly appreciate the honesty, professionalism, and the strategic guidance Ouilife provided. It has given me greater confidence in the direction of my brand.

08 — Common questions

Before you submit a brief.

What is your minimum production quantity?

Minimum production depends on the formula, packaging, fill size and production setup, so it is confirmed per project rather than fixed across the board. Tell us the product and packaging you have in mind and we will give you the realistic minimum for it.

What do the route fees cover?

Route fees cover the development and sampling work stated under each route — brief review, formulation, sample production and up to two structured revision rounds. Production, packaging inventory, third-party testing and regulatory fees are quoted separately unless a written quotation explicitly includes them.

Do you help with NAFDAC registration?

We prepare the route-scoped product and formula documentation and support regulatory readiness once the formula is finalised. Registration filing, third-party costs and submission responsibilities are confirmed separately and are not included in the development fee by default.

Do you source packaging?

Packaging briefs, fill and closure requirements and compatibility review are part of OUI's work. Procurement and sourcing are included only where separately agreed in writing. Stock packaging is usually the most practical option for a first launch.

Can I launch with one product?

Yes. Many brands begin with one product to establish their offer and validate demand before expanding. Development and production requirements apply per product or SKU.

Who owns the formula?

Formula ownership, licensing and exclusivity are governed by the written project agreement. Selecting a custom route does not automatically transfer every underlying formulation or intellectual-property right.
